1. Overview
myCuisine is designed to be private by default. Your account, meal and health data is encrypted in transit and stored in the cloud solely to power your account and keep your plans in sync across your devices — we never sell it, and we never use it for advertising. We do run a minimal, aggregate, cookie-free analytics beacon to understand overall usage of the site; see Section 6 for exactly what that collects and why.
2. What we collect
Authentication data. When you sign in, we collect your email address (and name, if you provide one, or your account profile when using single sign-on) solely to create and verify your account.
Meal and health data. Your preferences — cuisine, diet, calorie target, medical conditions — along with generated plans and food logs are stored on your device for instant access and securely synced to the cloud so they're available whenever and wherever you sign in.
Aggregate usage data. See Section 6 — collected separately from your account and never joined to your meal, preference or health data.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
- We do not run advertising, and we do not use advertising trackers, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
- We do not use your meal, preference or health data for anything other than generating and syncing your own plan — it is never used for analytics, advertising, or any other purpose, and never linked to the aggregate usage data described in Section 6.
4. Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account removes your authentication record and cloud-stored data; locally cached data can be removed by clearing site storage on each device you used.
5. Cookies and local storage
The app uses on-device storage for fast access to your plans and logs, and cookies or similar mechanisms strictly to keep you signed in. The analytics beacon described in Section 6 does not use cookies.
6. Analytics and tracking
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service run by our hosting provider, to understand how many people visit the site and roughly how it's used. It is:
- Cookie-free — it does not set cookies or use any persistent device identifier, and does not track you across other websites.
- Aggregate only — it reports things like page views, approximate visit counts, referring site, country-level location, and browser/device type. It cannot identify you individually, and we do not attempt to.
- Never linked to your account — it has no access to, and is never combined with, your email, meal plans, preferences, or any health-related data.
We do not run any other analytics, advertising, or tracking script. Nutritional and meal-planning logic all runs in your browser — your profile and generated plans are sent only to our authentication and sync provider (Section 7), never to an analytics or advertising service.
7. Third-party services
We rely on the following third-party services, each under their own standard privacy and security practices:
- Firebase (Google) — handles sign-in (Firebase Authentication) and secure, encrypted storage/sync of your profile, plans and logs (Cloud Firestore).
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and provides the cookie-free aggregate analytics described in Section 6.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used in the app's design.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
